Here are some testimonials from our happy Border Collie puppy owners, proudly bred by In Piper’s Dream Border Collies:
“I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for the wonderful addition of Chip to our family. It’s been over two years since he joined us now, but he has brought immeasurable joy and companionship into our lives. Your dedication to responsible breeding is evident in the health and temperament of the pups you rear. From the first interaction, it was clear you prioritize the well-being of all your crew.
Having a dog from a breeder was new to me. I was reluctant to go that route because I didn’t think a breeder would instill that human bond to the pups. However, after visiting you a few times over the year before Chip was born, it was obvious your heart was in what you do. Watching you on the floor with your dogs and how they responded with affection made it clear they trusted and adored you. A dog will always let us know the truth.
The seamless process, thorough documentation, and support you’ve provided have been exceptional. Chip is not only a beautiful soul, but also well-socialized, kind and connected. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to choose our boy from you. Thank you for making this experience so positive.
Yours sincerely,
Dan

“Piper came to me right when we went to see Sheila’s pups, so we chose her. Sheila said to us, “Pick a name,” and we asked if we could call her Piper!
Sheila had the pups trained for kennel, “business,” and know their name.
We are in our 70s and Piper is our first dog. She keeps us active! Piper is active but she is easily settled with ball play of any kind!
Sheila is a breeder who is always ready to give advice along the way. 😊”

“I found In Piper’s Dream Kennel listed as a registered breeder of the Canadian Border Collie Association. I reached out to Sheila and expressed my interest in a puppy, we chatted online and then by phone. I could feel her love for her dogs come through in every conversation.
She is knowledgeable and caring and made the entire experience for me super easy. After all is said and done you know 100% that these are her family members and that she is always there to ask advice from and keeps the wellbeing of her puppies in mind even after leaving her care.
I recommend In Piper’s Dream Kennel to any and all future BC owners.”
“Purchasing a puppy from In Piper’s Dream Kennel was a wonderful experience. Lots of communication, opportunity for questions and updates on our chosen baby. Sheila’s dogs are so obviously loved and cared for, we knew we were choosing the right breeder.
Our boy, Ike, is now a year and a half and he fits in with our young family of five so perfectly. He adores our kids, is gentle and mindful of them. His personality is so sweet, we love him to bits.”

“Sheila is an exceptional dog breeder who truly cares about her puppies. She screens potential owners carefully, ensuring each puppy goes to a loving home. Raised in her home with access to a large outdoor play area, puppies are exposed to various situations early on, making them well-socialized and adaptable. Sheila also ensures all genetic testing is done, providing peace of mind.
Our Border Collie, Arthur, was house-trained and sleeping through the night by eight weeks. Sheila loves getting updates and genuinely cares how the dogs are doing long after they are puppies. Arthur is now 3 and has brought immense joy to our family, We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Sheila.”
“Sheila and I met 7 years ago when we were both walking our young Border Collies, and she told me then of her dream to be the best breeder surrounded by happy dogs with great lives. Little did I know then that this dedicated woman would be huge part of my own expanding border collie family.
My In Pipers Dream Border Collie pups are brilliant and loving, the work Sheila does with the pups in those early weeks by filling their lives with textures, smells, adventures and care, is “setting dogs up for success” right out of gate. Lucky enough to be a part of the early lives of some litters, I have seen how the wonderful In Pipers Dream dogs live full lives and every possible effort is made to produce healthy, balanced and resilient pups.
What I love most about Sheila’s approach is that she is constantly learning and listening and working at being the best breeder she can be and she is careful to make sure her pups go to the best people, while also remains committed to welcoming her pups back when life happens.”

“I got my boy Gunner in November 2023. Working with Sheila was amazing to say the least.
Being in another province, she helped me from day 1 of saying, yes, I want a male border collie, actually, I wanted 2 boys, however, not knowing about litter mate syndrome, Sheila advised against it. This just goes to show what an honest breeder Sheila is, her puppies’ health and well being come first.
Getting Gunner from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland was a little bit of a challenge at first, however, Sheila assisted in getting me in touch with transport companies. When the one I hired had to cancel a week before his “gotcha ” date, I booked a flight and went to Halifax. Sheila went above and beyond, her and Gunner met me at the airport and we went to a dog park for an hour so we could meet and get acquainted. Then she drove me back to the airport to fly home with my boy !
Sheila keeps in touch and checks up on how Gunner is doing and she genuinely cares about all her pups. She is the ultimate dog mom !”
Finn the Border Collie
“I’d like to introduce my best fur friend, Finn. I first met him in October 2022 when he was around 6 weeks old. He was born on September 9th. I’d always wanted a Border Collie so I found Sheila Harris and In Piper’s Dream Border Collies on FaceBook. I chatted with Sheila and set up an appointment to see her latest litter of puppies.
Upon arrival I was greeted by an amazing pack of Border Collies and Sheila in their midst! They all greeted me with playthings to toss and I knew that I had made the right choice. Sheila took me inside to meet the mother of the litter and the puppies. I can recall sitting in the play area with the puppies. As I watched them, one came up to me, so I picked him up and he immediately licked my face. I knew in that instant that his name would be Finn because of a novel I wrote. In the story, the protagonist picked up a male Border Collie that came to him in the kennel and it immediately licked him on the face. He named him Finn and took him home.
Finn came home with me on November 5, 2022. He sat in my arms the whole way to Fox Point while a friend drove. Sheila said that it is the best time to bond with the puppy. Upon arrival home, Finn quickly settled in and our new life started together. It is one that I am blessed to have as Finn is an amazing companion and friend. He’s intelligent, friendly, playful and has a great sense of humour. He’s done really well in his training classes and picks up new commands very quickly. He’s also a friend of Karma the adopted cat as well.
I am 61 years old and daily 5 km walks with Finn help me stay in shape and gives Finn a chance to run and explore. He’s been able to spend time alone and has never shown signs of anxiety when I’m not there. In fact, he loves his scavenger hunt, peanut butter in the Kong and treats in the knotted towel when I leave. He also listens to doggie classical music while I am gone. One of my biggest joys is coming home to his greeting that I call “wiggle bum.” He also has learned to approximate the word “Hello.”
I am telling this story because Finn has changed my life for the better. I know that I made the right choice when choosing In Piper’s Dream Border Collies because of Sheila’s expertise. She has helped me with so many things such as puppy teeth, outdoor potty, crate training and even how to deal with ticks and fleas. Whenever I was unsure of something, Sheila was always available to answer my questions.
I highly recommend In Piper’s Dream Border Collies without hesitation. Sheila truly loves what she is doing and it shows in everything she does!”

“Buying a puppy from In Pipers Dream Border Collies was a pleasure. During my first phone call to inquire about the 3 remaining puppies of the latest litter, Sheila answered every question thoroughly and with enthusiasm. It was obvious from the start that she loved her dogs and wanted them going to a loving home. During that first call we set up a date that I could drop by her home and meet the puppy that I was thinking of getting.
When I visited her home a few weeks later I got to see how all the adult dogs interacted and could tell they were very well behaved. They were like a family and each one had a happy disposition. I knew then that my puppy was coming from good stock.
A few weeks later I came back to pick up my pup. I don’t know if Sheila intended this on purpose but as I drove in the driveway, there were 3 dogs out on the lawn watching my car. All 3 had the same markings as the pup I was coming to get. Immediately I thought to myself, “This is what Sophie will grow to look like!”. A very cool thing to experience while picking up a tiny 8 week old puppy.”
